I am exhausted tonight.
Today I (finally!) launched my website! I finished most everything this morning and then published it so my parents could take a look at it. I wanted to know if they could catch anything missing first.
Then I drove to the country club so I could pick up the Nike clothing I had ordered back in October. I ordered over 20 pieces so I could have a new wardrobe for 2014.
All of my golf shirts had the country club’s logo on them!!!!
I am pissed.
Even back in October I was seriously contemplating finding work elsewhere. So when I ordered these I made sure not to ask for the logo. Clothing companies do not put logos on shirts unless you specifically ask for it. Because it costs more and it is very hard to return a shirt and resell it if there is a logo from another club on there.
I cannot and will not wear these shirts!
I emailed Meg, the other professional I had worked with and talked to today. I am going to see if the club will take the shirts and sell them and then she can reorder me the same shirts but without the logo this time.
I do not know why the logo is on them. Maybe our rep thought that I would want them. Maybe she was confused because we had said we wanted logos on all of the stock shirts and thought maybe we wanted them on the staff shirts as well. We rarely order golf shirts with the club logo on them as golf professionals. Unless of course you are a golf professional at Augusta National. In that case I would have that logo embroidered on my panties.
After stopping at the country club I then drove to Staples. I needed some way to organize everything in my desk drawer. I had an organizational kit on my desk, but it did not allow me any room to actually write on my desk with my laptop on it. I also purchased a weekly dry-erase board organizer, flyer holders with attached business card holders, and certificate paper that was on sale. Everything I bought today (including my mileage) is absolutely going to be written off on my taxes next year.
When I came home today I created a Facebook page for my golf business with the link to my website. I am doing everything at my disposal to get the word out. I am trying to create as much buzz and excitement as I can as early as possible. I figure with the snow storm about to drop its payload of 12-16 inches worth of snow on us tonight it might be fairly easy to get people to daydream about sunshine and fresh-cut grass and playing nine holes. Hopefully.
I feel as though I have executed everything in as orderly and well thought-out as possible. I try to think a couple of steps ahead and to see every possibility so I can determine what will be best for me to do today. With the launch of my website and the Facebook page everyone will be able to see all of the programs I have available.
I have another eventful day ahead of me tomorrow. I need to deal with today’s receipts and then I am crawling into my warm bed. Hopefully I do not wake up to more snow.
